All scars he have are from his previous life , and got carried in this one , i believe it also has something to do with whatever that wolf demon made the servant feed him, so the wounds from previous life never had a chance to heal and then the effects from that orb and his broken soul .

@Yuki9197, The bai yi big brother is reincarnation of Ranshen. In the end Rashen didn’t even remember giving yunqian that doll and even using yunqian to threaten Ye Junli (basically Ranshen in this second life is a cunning bastard, but later realize his mistake and sacrifice him self again). Ye Junli treats Yun jian better in this second life, but there’s still so much mistake he made because of jealousy. Later, Yun jian die again, and reborn in his third life as a little fish (mermaid?). There’s no ranshen in the third life, but yun qian have a protective big brother that treats him right.
