The thing you are talking yansheng didn’t show a single care for wennian in their first marriage is actually true and he didn’t love wennian then. But when he started falling in love he fell head over heels lmao there’s literally 100 chps of yansheng’s suffering in novel redemption arc is so satisfying and long you will actually love it lol
Gu yansheng didn’t gave up on wennian he persued him while redeeming himself yansheng can literally die for him now what else character development we need? The novel contains 240+ chps it’s worth it.
And brother why are u feeling sad about shen luaon?not to mention all this drama’s main cause is shen luaon my baby wennian wouldn’t have suffered this much if it wasn’t for that bitch and we can’t expect anything from yansheng since he dumb Yes yansheng tossed him aside bc yansheng never loved him whatever yansheng did for him was empathy It was never a romantic feeling for yansheng since he never been in love so now that he got feelings for wennian those feelings are new for him so he is acting like a teenager lol getting advice from his frnd and mom.

My comment below contain spoiler so here is my review without spoilers and maybe heads up what to expect if you plan to read this:
1) Toxicity: Aside from s*xual abuse, this story almost have every abuse present. Physical, mental, verbal and even child abuse from flashbacks are here.
2) Mommy/Daddy Issues: A lot of them suffers from it.
3) Lying/Deception: It took time for the truth to come out, and when it did, it was satisfying.
The story was fun to read, it makes you want to read more however, according to the comments of novel readers, a lot was changed or even removed/not included from the novel thus it will feel rushed and sometimes forced later on.

A lot of readers praised this story being worth the read but I guess it only holds 100% true for novel readers. As someone that didn’t read the novel, it felt rushed and forced thus, it was disappointing, the ending I mean, beginning up to 20 or so chapters after the divorce was fun. After that, it just feels rushed and very forced 😭 I saw some comments that a lot of facts and events from the novel was completely changed and removed which might have explained some of my irks from the story.
Because it being rushed, I just don’t feel it that Gu Yansheng suffered enough to be forgiven from 3 years of abuse that he did to Niannian. He “fixed” the piano that he destroyed himself and then he was suddenly redeemed. He started acting like an innocent teenager that just discovered falling in love but the person he fell in love with is out of reach that’s why he feels brokenhearted. Like, boohoo, that isn’t really enough for me, Niannian had to take antidepressant because of him and all he got was broken bones from being a hero. Niannian also got broken bones because of him and from him. I also think him “realizing” he’s “been in love” with Niannian all this time was bs. He never show a single care inside their marraige, he started falling in love? maybe, but has been in love for so long? BS! Also for Shen Luoan, I feel a little bad for him, yeah, he was a bitch and a liar, he never changed, but the thing I feel bad for him was Yansheng just throwing him after learning of his lies like they were never been “boyfriends” for years. Yansheng just basically abused him the way he abused Niannian, I guess to compensate, when it wasn’t Shen Luoan that did the abuses, it was him. Yansheng imprisoned and tortured Shen Luoan like its just his personality 🫠 so little redemption, too many reflections. It might be because a lot of context was removed from novel thus this rant of mine is only for Manhua version Gu Yansheng.

NianNian didn’t cave in right away like many others we see, he stood his ground.
Gu dog actually regretter and did his best to improve himself, didnt force NianNian and respected his decision.

Absolutely amazing manhua I have read so far i love it so much I love the couple although the seme was really toxic I like the fact that seme didn’t chose to give up uke. he kept trying. Trying until his death I loved it lol the story was so well written.

I liked everything about this mahua. It was so toxic but it also had great redemption arc good character development and storyline line was so addictive. I usually read toxic Stories but seme’s don’t usually get redemption arc that’s long or always feel like it’s not enough but this has one hell of a redemption arc which I liked it alot. I want more chapters but I guess it ended? Man I want more give us some extra chapters.

@Lucii_DD fr this really f*cked me up the story was going so slow gu was a jerk in more than half of chapters and then we got to see redemption arc for wht? Do they think if they gonna end up the story in just 1-2 chapter we will get satisfied oh god f*cking not we have been seeing both ML and mc’s suffering but didn’t get to see their lovey dovey moments not to mention we didn’t even get to see the kiss of main couple wow this was my favorite story coz I usually like toxic stories but also like lovely moments in the end this really made me disappointed.

The novel is kinda different on several points. In the novel, GuYangShen redemption is kinda longer and he has some hard times before NianNian start to aknowledge his changing.
