You can apply the classic case here, about good and evil….consider the situation that gave rise to this bond in the first place. Hill would be hunted down by his own family, his father himself demanded the abortion, and to be honest, I see it as Hill wanting to distance himself in order to get some emotional distance, because to be honest, Hill would have stayed with them and the child…YES, he would have been given the role of mother, but he wouldn’t have been accepted by the people themselves, only the child would have been recognized as an official family member, and he would have led a life in the shadows, and he recognized that. Xingmu thinks more with his heart. Hill, on the other hand, is very realistic and probably recognized very early on where this would lead, and to be honest, I personally wouldn’t want him to lead a life in the shadows, where people talk contemptuously behind his back because of his origins….I’m certainly not defending anyone here, but you have to look at both sides….I certainly don’t think it’s okay that he is so emotionless towards his child, but I honestly understand it and I find Xingmu’s attempts to make him understand that he has feelings for him, somehow very baseless and not very optimistic….

He’s not just selfish but he’s also a coward that refuses to fight for his love. You left your child for 3 years??? Even after Xing Mu said he could visit whenever he wanted to?
And for those arguing that he can’t love someone who wanted to kill his family, mind you that Hill’s father wiped out all of Xing Mu’s family save for Prince Xu, and yet Xing Mu was willing to love him, change his identity and protect him.
He even spared Hill’s brother despite the atrocities he committed. But Hill refused to fight for their love, if he even loved him, and has been living alright without him for three years, while Xing Mu is slowly dying because he misses him.

Hill beg for his brother’s life to not hate the person he dearly love which is xing mu that will murder his only family member left. Hill sacrificed his loved for xing mu, even though xing mu arranged everything for him, hill still chose to leave xing mu as to not burden him as he is an enemy’s son no matter what. Hill did not abort the child because it’s not just anyone, it’s his OWN child w/ xing mu. He even sacrificed being a mother just to give the kid a normal and peaceful life and not a title of an enemy’s kid. First of all you all are saying that Hill was selfish and so he didn’t stay with Xing mu, just imagine you in love with a person who is about to kill your family I mean I don’t know about Hill’s father but even though Hill’s brother had some wrong doings he was about to kill the child and Xing mu but he still cared about Hill. So of course even if Hill loves Xing mu dearly, you wouldn’t want to live with the guilt and fear that the person you love has killed your only family.
And about the baby trap thing, I also feel it was kinda wrong for a mother (Hill) to leave the child but still again the guilt kicks in and also that Xing mu is currently more financially stable to raise the baby unlike Hill who doesn’t live in the castle anymore and also it is dangerous for a single mother and new born baby to be alone out on the streets without a father.
