Proud of them omg how cute are they now? Would have been nice if he had explained why he throw the pills away in the first place, he was just worried that yuer would suffer too much but yuer misunderstood it. istg this couple needs to learn to communicate SO badlyyy
It doooooeeees makes me SO squirmy that he’s afraid of the guy he’s married to. I think PERSONALLY, I would have really liked it if the stress and hesitation to come forward about the pregnancy was because he was simply worried he wouldn’t be able to carry to term. You could even get a lil fake out where you think he’s still scared of whatshisnuts but SURPRISE! He’s not! He just didn’t wanna say anything til he was sure the pregnancy was problem free! This is TOTALLY a me thing, because I think a lot of people who have had the same kind of experiences I’m drawing on would find the way this plays out on page super cathartic, and of course this is a fiction where they’re gonna work things out and be happy. JEEZ tho, does it give me stomach churning flashbacks to so many people I love who have had partners where it was just like this constant cycle of abuse, lashing out by the abused person, “oh they’ve changed and I feel bad about lashing out!”, stress and worry every time they did something “wrong” followed by frankly heartbreaking relief when their partner didn’t freak out, followed by the abuser inevitably getting back on their bullshit. (Please be good to yourself IRL and remember you deserve someone AWESOME!)
Obviously this is a fiction where they’re supposed to end up happy and I’m assuming we’re in the home stretch and that he’s genuinely a changed man or whatever, despite the “boys talk” a few chapters ago (YUCK, sorry). I also get that the decisions both of them made re: having a baby are meant to show them coming closer together and expressing their love for one another, by choosing to not cause potential pain over an heir, and by wanting to start a family and that being shown in a way that the audience can’t mistake for any sort of coercion. I get also that this is like a…proving himself moment. Also, to reiterate, my guess is that for a lot of people, seeing someone come around like this is super cathartic, it’s nice to see people who are genuinely able to change!!! It’s like…yeah, I wanna write about dark stuff, but I also want there to be a light at the end of the tunnel, and I think that shows a lot of hope for the world on the part of the author, which is really nice. So NO SHADE, chase your bliss, ILYU all! Just had a super visceral “if this was IRL” (obviously it’s not LOL) reaction and needed to let it out, and was too shy to take it to my friends and give them like, twenty minutes of context on what the HELL I’m talking about!
Art continues to absolutely blow me away, I NEED to find some other comics illustrated by this person, holy BANANAS
Oh and delighted my transgenderification beam worked again! 😛
