@jozial count me in the Pei gege fanclub lol I get why people hate him at this point because I also did that, but I have to admit that after I finished the novel I had a big fat crush on him, he really became a great catch 😂 his loyal, shameless, simp character and his dynamic with Yi’er was interesting to read lol he was oddly charming smh. I hope we get to notice more of his gradual transformation in the manhua too
They are changing Pei Zheng’s personality so much he might as well be a different character. In the novel he became kind of zen after the fall, he never became this aggressive. Before he figured out this was Yier he was kind of sweet to him, taking him for dinner and inviting him to some event held by the emperor (can’t remember what it was but it involved the barbarian guy from part 1). He asked around and found out that if a tattoo was hidden he’d be able to reveal it if the person was put under stress or drunk. So Pei Zheng “tricked” Yier into eating food made with alcohol so that he’d get drunk (we all know this isn’t how it works irl but for the sake of the story let’s go with it), and while Yier was drunk, Pei Zheng took a look into his robe and found the tattoo had been revealed. That’s how he figured out this was Yier. He didn’t accidentally see the tattoo and aggressively push him into the wall and start screaming lmao. It doesn’t even make sense for him to react like that.
Anyway, any other Pei Zheng fans here? I feel like I’m sitting alone in the Pei-gege fanclub lmao
@MissEve I see, but Yi’er said he bought the puppet, so it isn’t actually a heirloom but that he wanted to give it to his son or daughter as a heirloom 🤭 he isn’t too attached to it because he probably just bought it or bought it at some point during these three years he has been living as Shen Shijiu, but it was expensive nonetheless
Lmao not the conversations happening in chat 💀
Anyway pls never remember the ugly bitch pei and pls never get together with him, also I hope if u do remember him, that u get revenge
(Aaah one more, so sorry! And just to cap the thought off: the fact that he switches behaviour so quickly and to SUCH a massive degree when Pei was SO rude in his offer of compensation suggests that him saying he was particularly attached to this dummy because it was an heirloom was…a lie)
the acceptance of the replacement would…not be bubbly, would only be if I absolutely needed the thing and could not replace it, and there would certainly not be any food offered as thanks.
Oh I totally get what you’re talking about! I should clarify what I meant, and it involves the context of Pei’s behaviour in making that offer:
I have, for example, some beautiful necessities that belonged to my grandmother and my mother. If one of them was ruined, and if the person who did it said “UGH, fine, why are you whining, I’ll give you money for it” the acceptance of the replacement would…not be bubbly, there would be no food offered in return, and would only be if I absolutely needed the thing and could not replacement again. I would still be furious. There was no apology or acknowledgement of why he might be upset.
Now, if the person who broke the thing said “oh no I’m so sorry! please let me make it up to you!” That would be an entirely different story, you know?
Hopefully that helps you understand where I’m coming from even if you don’t agree, which you’re certainly not obligated to! 💖💖💖
@MissEve Well he cried and got upset about the loss of the puppet though, what else can he do 😆 it also doesn’t make sense to mourn about it. But as a medical student he doesn’t have money to pay all of these things and he needs a puppet to keep learning medicine so ofc he would get happy about it if someone offers to help, who wouldn’t tbh 😆. And at that moment what Pei Zheng is implying is that the past Yi’er wouldn’t care about any of this, be it money or medicine, so he was doubting there for a sec about his suspicions of Shen Shijiu being Yi’er
If Yi’er’s version of not worrying about money is “it doesn’t matter if it breaks because someone will fork out money for a replacement”, which is what Pei seems to be implying, and if he apparently has no sentimental attachment to something that was given to him specifically to take care of beyond what it takes for a guilt trip (judging by the swiftness with which he fawned when a replacement was offered) then I HATE to say it, and it doesn’t mean he deserved to be beaten and raped in a serial killer’s torture dungeon among his victims, but he is in fact a spoiled, entitled brat.
He just happens to be a POLITE spoiled, entitled brat.
Also, get off him, you greasy disgusting psychopath, you. And quit it with the slit pupil eyes. You will never be Sephiroth, and frankly I’m deeply offended that you would even TRY.

Looks like his life is cracked now that the tattoo is back.?.
Im not sure either.
I’m torn between liking Pei Zheng for how he is in the novel and hating him for how he is in the manhua 🙏😭
Agares
I lived to see Yi-er, acting like that hahaha .
Really satisfying, but the shit tattoo……
I don’t want the two of them to end up together.

Oops! Awkward sentence, lemme try again:

Omg the cliffhanger jssjk and lmao that panel of Pei Zheng “saving” Yi’er from teacher Xiao Hei was so epic 🤭😂 Tks for the update!
