I’m not saying the sequel to SL and what a HORRIFIC FATHER he is would be vastly improved if it was a dark murder comedy a la arsenic and old lace where his son and the other couple’s son fall in love over murdering him…but I’m also not NOT saying that >:3

I feel your rage @MissEve, I felt similar if not more rage like that when I read Silent Lover. at least in this story we can excuse him for the fact that initially he thought Qianqian betrayed him by stealing his pearl. but in Silent Lover, that emperor is just the worst. every suffering and pain he gave to Yuer was planned and carefully calculated by him from the beginning, he knew who Yuer ancestors were, the riches they had and he used Yuer and his rival from the very beginning. all while tutoring and making Yuer life miserable. No amount of bast@rd in manhua can surpass him

Like. What absolutely makes me bonkers is that it doesn’t occur to him that he’s JUST TERRIBLE at everything he tries to do and that he should just fucking stop.
