Okay, so just to clear things up—what Ji Tianci touched was a slit where the hemipenis(snake reproduction AKA PP for males) is. In snakes (and a bunch of other reptiles), males actually have two hemipenes, and they’re tucked inside the cloaca, which is that slit-looking opening on the underside of the tail. When it’s time to mate, one of the hemipenes flips inside out—like, it everts—and that’s what the male uses to fertilize the female. It’s totally normal snake anatomy, just kinda hidden unless they’re actually mating.
