How the fck is he exactly the spitting image of his father…!!?? Didn’t his mother get the sign & hints of him becoming like this while raising him after dealing with his father for so long…!!??? Just HOW…!!!??? & Why the fck did his dad force a marriage upon his son when he, himself loves someone so much…!!?? Even took advantage of his authority against his closest aid & his family…. You did the right thing protecting your dad, and I get that a lot of what youāre doing is to keep the Prince in society and his HORRIBLE fatherās good graces and that the rest of it is seeing him through the rose tinted glasses of childhood, but oh my gosh, please cut your loses and protect yourself, heās made it clear *repeatedly* that heās gonna make your life MISERABLE if you get in his way T.T the way poor Song Jr is handling this situation makes me itch all over (I do NOT chase people and it gives me DEEP secondhand embarrassment), and I still donāt really like him, but SHEESH, obviously all of this is absolutely beyond the pale. I knew it was gonna take a hard left in that direction and I do expect to continue to develop sympathy for him.
Also, the Prince is unfortunately right about his parents. Iām pretty sure his father passed on whatever demonic possession is going on with him to this one and Iām willing to bet the excuse for getting Yuāer out of the way is going to be that heās like tragically ill or something. Not that I would expect him to be any good either when he thought it was good parenting to SPANK A BABY.
I also feel like thereās something here where likeā¦ok so heres the thing. Hua was entirely right when he said they were in the same position in the princeās estimation – basically just THINGS for him to do what he wants with. It would be SO interesting if that was him attempting to reach out to Song (of course it wasnāt) and if the two of them (Song Jr and Hua) formed a connection and if a big part of what caused shit to hit the fan with the Prince was Song Jr helping Hua escape, but of course Hua is foreign, doesnāt have any ābreedingā, and is willing to throw it back, so in the world of this comic, heās gotta be evil. Even though, while I fully expect him to get nasty as, so far heās only really gone along with the princeās bullshit, and frankly, it doesnāt seem like anybody has much of a choice but to go do that if they want to like. Be. Alive. With all their limbs attached. Especially a slave. And thatās not me suggesting Hua is like, a more worthy partner. Frankly, I think the prince can die in a hole alone forever. Both of these poor kids should be far far far away from him enjoying their lives is what I think. Iām just saying it would be nice, *in my opinion*, to see some victim solidarity.
Iām sure thereās tons of people this all works for, I think thatās completely awesome, based, pog, and uhā¦whatever colour pill is the good one LOL. This is obviously just how itās hitting me personally. I wanna make that SUPER clear. Iām just attempting to analyze and purging my reaction, which I find super cathartic.
I really do want to continue purely for the art, because itās SO SO SO beautiful. The clothes in particular are incredible. Iām gonna do my best to try to focus on that for the rest of it. :3
So I finished the novel and all I can say is. Itās a long way for both MC and ML. I can confirm that ML will suffer as much as MC! So fret not and continue reading. This story is so much more intriguing and intricate and more sad compared to the first one with Shen Yu and Jun Xuan! Also Yuer the empress isn’t really involved in the novel which was confusing as no way in hell woulf Yuer would just let his son treat Liqing this way but alas. A lot of interesting characters and plot points! So good luck but be warned because angst, sadness and anger ahead
