So, basically, ML was somehow sent away when he was younger, against his will, and that’s why he’s mad at his parents, and probably, that’s also why he’s mad with MC (just a guess). They should have grown close to one another because they grew up together, and ML was very fond of MC when they’re toddlers. So, I guess, something big must have happened that caused all of the bitter feelings of ML. Sigh. Poor MC though, getting caught up in all of these things, but I’m very glad that he’s not a pushover. I just don’t understand how their marriage is necessary. I understand that it’s political, and an agreement through marriage is probably the most effective to ally the palace and the military, but MC’s father is already very loyal to the emperor. I don’t see their marriage as extremely necessary. They’ve also been reigning for decades already, and I doubt that the throne is still not that stable for them to ask the support of other powers. Please enlighten me.
