The eyes are the windows to the soul, they say. Yu’er seems to recognize the eyes, maybe? Masks have worked in all sorts of stories…only the reader sees through them easily. Interesting dynamic now as if tables are turned (sort of). And, yes the question of why Chu Lin agreed to this arrangement? Mmmm.
i see a lot of complaints abt the mask, pls don’t call Yu-er stupid and understand that : in the novel, JXX had a full mask on. but in the manhua it makes sense that they would only cover his eyes bc it’s harder for US to recognize him and know his expressions with a full face covered.
The story telling in manhua relies completely on expressions instead of writing a description (compared to the novel).
