What a strange take, to continuously hate on JXX the entire series, even though he truly turned himself around and changed, but to support Qi Yu’s actions and the idea of murdering his father, when his father happens to be doing a good job leading the country and being a husband. As to a father, we know they doted on him, but something obviously went wrong along the way. Qi Yu’s upbringing was done by both fathers, so however he turned out wouldn’t be the blame of only one person
Li Qing needs to just ask to leave the marriage. Would the emperor really punish his father simply because his song didn’t want to stay in an abusive relationship? He of all people should know
Wanna be on Li Qing’s side, but he’s being annoying begging for Qi Yu and letting himself be thrown around and abused
I think what really cheeses me off about this is both of their complete inability to accept the other person.
Like…ugggghhhh, I so so badly want to be fully and entirely in LiQing’s corner, but it’s just…
Like. If you don’t want to have sex with him and he wants to get his dick wet and is happy and would in fact PREFER to bang someone else, let him do it. There’s no actual reason to require consummation of the marriage because the only way they could get pregnant is if they get the special whatever the fuck and the Prince takes it up the rear, and I sincerely doubt that would occur to the author to do, much as I personally would enjoy that twist. I wanna be clear that the Prince SUUUUUUUCKS, this is absolutely coercive assault with intention to make it as unpleasant as possible. Thing is, he’s also said – repeatedly – that all he wants is to be left alone. Nothing that LiQing is doing deserves punishment, it’s just…frustrating for me I guess to see him essentially walk into a tiger den banging massive cymbals and carrying a stick to poke the tigers with. It’s like having a high school friend with THE WORST but also most implacable crush on the planet. It doesn’t make me sad for him, it just makes me want to shake him.
Oh and also – I’ve said it before, but the best solution to all of this is obviously for LiQing to just kill the Emperor Worst Father of the Century by poison. Nobody would care, there would be nobody to punish the Prince, which seems to be LiQing’s big worry, and outside of his truly munted “romantic” life, we have no reason to think that the Prince can’t run things in his father’s place. Or if he doesn’t want to, LiQing could. AND it would be, in my opinion, SUCH a fun twist. They could even fall in love over murder – I mean, it’s supposed to be a dark romance, yes?
