Ok first off, NO SHADE!
So I gotta say, I’ve got no interest in the story here, but the art is really lovely, so I’ve been hopping around the chapters a bit out of curiosity, and I gotta saaaaaaay..:
There are SO many beautiful characters in this, but I’m kind of scratching my head over what the logic behind Yu’s design is??? Like, I’d been assuming that the artist had given him a sort of like…serviceable basic sorta cute-ish design because he’s the lead and had to appeal, or at least not be UNAPPEALING, to the most people? I figured the idea was that it was mainly his personality that made him stand out to his love interest, but this suggests that like…he’s supposed to be absurdly pretty and a face they launched a thousand ships type? I absolutely don’t get that at all, and I wouldn’t point it out except they obviously the artist has the sense of design to pull that off – I don’t DISLIKE what he looks like, but it does absolutely nothing for me and that confuses me SO much??? He makes me think of like, a shonen protag with three feet of hair added
I wonder if in addition to the usual or taking the least design risk with the protagonist, the design is also a bit of a reader insert thing and he doesn’t have any really distinct features so you can project yourself onto him? Not my bag, so that might explain why it does nothing for me. Hmmm! I’ll have consider! Until I get bored and forget about it that is LOL
