Kinda reminds me of STARTMAN with Jeff Bridges. The alien take a little DNA and replicates the human character’s body and speach. As well as some of the memories of the humans life.
I think if I did understand the guy sacrificed himself for the other one but they left him.. then the little mushroom appeared and idk was taking is dna or idk c he want to take kinda a revenge on the human so when he died he took his umm not body c we saw the bones but yk like the appearance anyways that’s what I understood
