Just as others described the novel, I, too, agree. The novel was worse than this. Reading the novel was more emotional that it could make you cry every chapter, it was full of angst. I recall reading it around 1 am and had to do some silent crying. Anyway, good luck if you plan to read the novel.
Why do I feel like the novel was way worse than this? Like.. I had to drop it when I reached around chapter 30+? ‘coz I couldn’t bear the pain. The novel(after the stand-in Shou faked his death) literally gave me nightmares the whole week…

In the novel before Xu Chengyan went to the temple, as a tourists, they were tasked to put an emergency contact person. He Yang is the person in the emergency contact. Later on after the car accident unknown person called He yang through Xu Chengyan’s phone, saying that Xu Chengyan is dead but He Yang didnt took it seriously cuz he thought it was just a prank because the accident happened on April Fool’s Day. It was then his secretary who got a call from an unknown number saying that Xu Chengyan actually died, Jiang Lin couldnt bare the pain then asked He Yang on what was going on.
