This should be ending with him and any airline worker or owner or whatever who gave him information going to jail literally right in a MASSIVE international scandal. It’s is absolutely 1000% *THE MOST ILLEGAL* worldwide to give out airline passenger info FOR THIS EXACT REASON. You can’t even give that information to family. You could literally have five different forms of ID and the airline will not tell you shit. And I can tell he’s not being sneaky about it because he’s clearly discussing it on the same stupid phone he’s calling everyone on, so if someone say…went to an office and bribed a worker there for it, he’s now fucked. Dumbass behaviour of the highest order. Sure, it’s a webcomic and I’m willing to go with a lot – it’s just comical that the writer has set up such a perfect ending for this unrepentant psycho stalker.
Like. Here’s the thing. I do not give a shit if there’s a time skip and this man is essentially a different character and a total husband guy now. He’s had…fucking…what, four? Five? Major rejections from Chengxiu, and every GODDAMN time he doubles down and has no shame in COMPLETELY IGNORING the rejection. Hes made no attempt o change beyond presumably resolving not to get married or cheat anymore (how very fucking kind) and I frankly want him to die. Very badly. Dogged persistence isn’t love, and while there are absolutely ways to make it work in fiction, IMHO this is not that. It’s entitled bullshit.
And…like. Ok. Chengxiu. I’m empathetic to people who aren’t confident. Really I am. Truly. What you need is a fucking support network, not *one friend* you seem to essentially only talk fo when you’re not boo’d up and a boyfriend you decided to move in with after like t-minus two seconds. Like. Girlfriend. You don’t need to be the protagonist of a romance. You need to learn to be single. It isn’t that I’m not empathetic. It’s just that if I was your friend the urge to shake you would be almost physically impossible to resist.
Like I think…honestly, this is fiction, right, I think for me, one of the reasons I stuck around is that I wanted to figure out why all of this was…I don’t wanna say hitting me hard, because if it was traumatizing me I would have stopped, but rather impossible for me to ignore. And I think I figured it out. It’s because the portrayal of abuse – which absolutely has not stopped – is so terrifyingly real that when combined with the “romance”, it makes me want to classify the comic as a psychological erotic horror.
