The chapters were at times difficult to read/view with Jun being so mean to poor Yu’er who kept trying his best to show his love just to have his efforts squashed. Then with court intrigue, Yu’er was abused even more until when he escapes and finds he is more than just a mere servant/slave. Now Jun seems to have realized the error of his ways and the sincerity of Yu’er , however, Jun is going to have to work really hard (and without speech) to show how important Yu’er is to him. Will be difficult because can’t reveal who he is…right now he is a “mute guard”.
Wow so it really wasn’t a misunderstanding before, he did that to yuer’s dice on purpose so he would leave, he knew yuer did love him but he didn’t care plus he probably indeed thought that the emperor had sex with him because the emperor is trash after all and he knows it well. But anyways, that means up til then he didn’t truly love Yuer at all. It was only after he lost Yuer completely that he started caring about him.
Tbh I started this webtoon with very low expectations. I hadn’t even realized it was BL until they said the mute character was a guy. The begining few chapters were like any other tyrannical BL manhwas. But the character development/story got so much better with each episode. I’m glad that Jun is seeing reason. We look forward to you trying to make amends.
it’s a nice touch that he has to suffer with some of the things Yuer has lived with.. BUT, for me personally, he was SO cruel to Yuer, so many horrible things, and it was NOT simple miscommunication problems. He did it on purpose, and he just admitted it in his inner monolog. He needs to do a lot of recompense to Yuer imo. A LOT.
the problem between the two of them is that they don’t talk with each other about the things that they worry about. communication is what they’re missing, they often misunderstand each other and do reckless things that would harm both of them. istg, chen yu will hate jun xuan xiao again the moment he discovers his real identity. but im happy that xuanxiao is changing for chen yu. i hope this ain’t tragedy/angst, because im weak on that kind of genre.

Why would Yuer assume a grown mute man can’t communicate with sign at his age? Does seem a bit silly for the purpose of this chapter’s plot
