I totally empathize with what you’re saying! If I could offer some insight – and like, this doesn’t at all invalidate your reaction because it’s something entirely subjective – these kind of stories are always tricky to write because one character (Xiao) is in a relatively junior and easily replaced position in the company, whereas the other character (Mo) is literally the CEO. It creates a power imbalance that the author is compensating for by giving Xiao a lot of authority in terms of their intimate relationship. Not only that, but Mo is a bit pushy in other aspects, like visiting Xiao when he was on sick leave despite being asked not to (obviously with good intentions! he’s clearly just extremely used to giving orders!).
Remember also! Xiao is out and clearly quite confident in his sexuality, whereas the implication for our lovely president is that this is his first time being attracted to, or at least ACTING on attraction to, a man. In that case it’s pretty natural for Xiao to sort of…take the lead, as it were. REMEMBER ALSO! Nothing wrong with being a bottom, lots of folks really enjoy it! TBQH, it’s not entirely clear to me that Mo DOESN’T enjoy being a bit of a pillow Prince and simply doesn’t know how to navigate that, considering how prickly he can be about even admitting he LIKES Xiao (remember him telling Xiao to get out if he didn’t have anything important to SU in the last chapter?) – it’s not at all unusual for folks with a lot of authority in other aspects of their life to enjoy a bit of submission in their intimate encounters! I think also if he was unhappy with the sex, he wouldn’t be like…having a sparkly daydream about Xiao asking him to be his boyfriend LOL
That said, NONE of that means it’s all necessarily gonna work for you! I’m just mentioning what I believe the logic behind the setup is! I think because we’re so often in Mo’s head and there’s a lot of lingering on various sweet moments (like the hand squeeze), it can be a little difficult to distinguish the thoughtful romantic person he is on the inside from the still kind but honestly far more abrasive face he seems to put on.
for the many chapters I’ve read and I feel sorry because I’m quite irritated. why secretary xiao is always superior and has the advantage, whether that’s what many people admire, gets the top position in s*x than director mo who has more bad luck, less liked by many people and always feels jealous and miss secretary xiao..i hope for the future story director mo finds an old friend / new male employee who will make him quite close and make secretary xiao very jealous and be ignored
