In Chapter 9, there is a foreshadowing where the narration mentions, “Suiying didn’t think too much about Li Yu’s request to intern with Suilin together; he innnocently thought the two young men only wanted to hang out together.”
So Suiying’s thought process went like this:
1) Li Yu had a crush on Suilin since childhood.
2) Li Yu and Suilin requested to intern at Suiying’s place together.
3) Li Yu and Suilin have been working together from the beginning to steal money and contracts from Suiying to set up their own company.
4) Li Yu has repeatedly and continuously rejected Suiying’s advances in the past, but Suiying, mistakenly thinking that no one can resist his awesomeness, persisted. Li Yu could have quit or walked away long ago, but he didn’t.
5) Li Yu admitted to Suiying that he’s not sure about his feelings toward Suiying.
6) Maintaining an intimate relationship with Suiying while stealing money for Suilin behind his back indicates that Li Yu was ‘honeypot trapping’ him the whole time.
In this story, everyone played a role and is at fault:
Suiying – for bullying his brother in the past, for sexually harassing Li Yu, for being hubris and think he’s all that.
Li Yu – for trying to be a hero for his childhood love, for agreeing to a scheme, for maintaining an intimate relationship with Suiying while carrying out the scheme, and for not being honest with Suiying sooner.
@paulo1170. – there’s no misunderstanding. This drama actually don’t rely much on misunderstandin. Li Yu really teamed up with Suilin and have stolen $ and contracts from Suiying. You can refer to Ch.66, 72 & 75,
Ch.66, Suilin and Liyu talked about signing a contract with the Beihai scientist couple. Li Yu pledged his loyalty to Suilin and said he won’t change his mind even when Suiying risked his life to save him.
Ch.72 Li Yu admited guilt internally that he knew about the 3 houses scheme, and that whatever he and Suilin had done (ex: stealing the Beihai contracts), he tried to ease his own guilt and justified it as “a compensation for Suilin’s suffering during childhood under Suiying’s hands”‘
Ch.75. Li Yu tried to tell Suilin to back off from more scheming against Suiyihng (there’s a huge one coming that’s already in motion). Li Yu mentioned their equity fund company can go public in Hong Kong next year, that whatever amount of money they’ve stolen was enough to launch their own company.
And what was there for Li Yu to explain to Jian Suiying? He could have come clean to Suiying sooner. For example he could have come clean after the swimming pool frolicking when they talked about Suiying’s cousin , but he felt guilty and wanted to protect Suilin more. Right before this chapter, Li Yu was already sketchy in JIan’s eyes by knowing about LI Yu’s long time crush on his brother, and Li Yu refused to say he liked Suiying because he didn’t know how he truly feel about Suiying, which is the truth.
JSY really is the victim here. He really is pitiful. It’s his nature having a bad temper but even if he listened there nothing LY can say to justify himself.
This isn’t even the end here, JSY go through more suffering.
And his little brother indeed a big bastard.
When LY sees his true face it’s little late but eventually he makes things better.
That’s how it is in the novel, yet I hate LY very much. In my opinion he got back easily what he wanted. Fart .😤😤😤
@//paulo1170 li yu knew exactly what exactly he was doing, he helped sullin because he had a crush on him and he wanted to help sullin to get his revenge even though later he eventually realised he was starting to develop feelings for mc but he didn’t back down because he thought mc would forgive him eventually.Hence there is no misunderstandings here
Why can’t he just stop and listen? Who knows if Li Yu was added to the company without his knowledge or even if he gave up halfway through. This refusal to even let the other side explain keeps misunderstandings going and annoys the heck out of me. 😤
