I definitely agree that people who know absolutely NOTHING about Asian culture should shut the fuck up about critisising cultural behaviours depicted by Asian authors.
Things work differently in the East and Westerners are completely clueless about how different things are between the East and the West.

PERSONALLY, that’s not what *I* was saying or getting from this! I’ve been babied by my family my whole life! And absolutely – he’s young! Literally in uni as you say!
What I’m getting at is *not at all* that this man is interested in kids like that, what I’m getting is that the comic is lampshading (ie; the scene earlier where he compares picking him up from work to picking a child up from school) the difference in like…not even age per se (I’ve said it before, I LOVE a good May/December ship) but the massive difference in life experience, and so what *I’M* saying is that it seems like Xin Rong is being targeted becyase of that lack of life experience as a means of control, because it’s actually literally stated that this is what is happening, which surprised me when I really started noticing it in the last few chapters because I had assumed that this was going to be more of an “oh no we had an arrangement but caught feelings and now don’t know how to tell each other” type situation
So when I say people treating him like a child here creeps me out, it’s because of the continued lampshading, ie: he calls his sister out for asking her children to call his *boyfriend* brother rather than uncle, *like he is* – like, the highlighting of the gap is clearly extremely intentional
I’m not saying the author is wrong for doing this at all, and I’m DEFFO not suggesting CSA
