Well…. He is not lying about anything. He is straight forward. He is taking care of him. And I guess he is balancing his work and personal life well as he is working while taking care of the needs of his partner. He is not neglecting him. Their relationship is just like a normal relationship. (Like a married couple) It’s not like they have nothing to do besides sex.
Anyone would fall for him. It’s just that he is not wearing his wedding ring. It’s means he might like Xin Rong but doesn’t love him. Just like Xin Rong feels for him. I hope Xin Rong doesn’t go very deep into the relationship as his ex gf said. Otherwise it will only hurt him. Shao Chengyun is just performing his duties as husband. And he is just happy that he got a good partner for this contract marriage. As in the first few chapters we can see how he not interested in the marriage but still doing it because of his mom. But when he met Xin Rong, he found him interesting. Chengyun is not a bad person. He just hasn’t fallen for Xin Rong yet(true love). He just likes him.
I hope this one year contract marriage will help them grow their relationship, especially for Chengyun. I am waiting for the day when he will slowly start to fall in love with Xin Rong. And turn this contract marriage into a real one.

And I’ll say this for ML: he’s not LYING, he’s being entirely upfront about his intentions and what he wants, the issue is that he’s leaving it at “well this is what we agreed on” and not actually like…checking in to see if his partner is starting to have a hard time with that.
Ultimately, I think what’s not selling me on them is that they don’t have anything in common aside from sex. I totally get being swept up in the pampering, but like…he’s kind of being treated like…how do I put this…your single mom’s rich new boyfriend wants to get in good with you to impress her, so he makes nice and takes you out to buy you shit. It’s like the people working on this liked the aesthetic of the two of them and didn’t get far beyond that. Like, if the park thing had happened because the kiddo found out the ML had a passion for roller coasters or something (let’s say he had something super cool but discreet, like a piece of a track of an old old old long gone famous ride on his wall) I would be SO DOWN. But as it is I have no reason to be like “these two are obviously made for each other and getting in their own way”
