I feel conflicted for Wen Yan, Yanya’s ex , he was regretful in his first life and has memories in his second life. He really loves Yan yan and from his POV he was given a chance to make amends and treat Yan yan right, but can’t get close to him.
He knows he neglected Yanyan and couldn’t find him when he came back from a business trip, if Yanyan hadn’t disappeared and then die, he might have had a chance to get back with him. They showed him regretful and sad in his past life, before he knew Yanyan had died.
If he didn’t have his memories I wouldn’t feel bad for him. He was a jerk and treated Yanyan poorly, but having his memories is too cruel. I guess I just put myself in his place, If I had a chance to redo my life and couldn’t fix some of my biggest regrets, how sad.
Not sure why this character is still around, the author even ‘allowed’ him the privilege to remember their past lives too: I guess the author is still keeping him around for some drama at some point, I really hope he turned a new leaf and learned his lesson… and that he won’t do anything stupid like cooperating with An Nan Yi to get Qingyan…
The best thing he can do right now is stay away and let Qingyan live this new life at peace.
