@Just Something yeah 🤧 it is like ‘hyung’ in korea and ‘kak’ in Indonesia, usually use it for calling your bio big brother, but it can be used to call an older acquaintance with a close relationship, i often used it to my male senior whe i was in school, coz we don’t have a special nickname to call our seniors like ‘sunbae’ in korean… idk other places, but as for me, yeah i use it like that

The An family is possibly Qianyan’s actual biological family (remember Nianyi’s brother looking like Qianyan?) and the An family and the Gu family just had friends relation. As for why Qianyan calls him Brother, it’s just a translation of chinese honorific (instead of Brother Fei, in Chinese it’ll be Fei-ge). I’m not super well-versed in Chinese, but adding the honorific “-ge” would indicates closeness while also respecting that the other party is the older one.
