Yichen, as a son, is self-sufficient, is married, needless of power and has no emotional connection, that emotional need is more than fullfiled!
And Mrs. Lu already messed two kids, the first by using it has a hunt dog until he became a beast and the second one by spoiling him economically and failing emotionally, and both failing morally.
