It’s true that the novel is quite long…400+ chapters๐ …and even if each chapter is short, seeing Du Yuzhang suffer for 200 chapters is unbearable I admit ๐
That said, there is indeed a story. The emperor and Du Yuzhang are in a huge misunderstanding… The emperor thinks that
Master Du betrayed him 3 years ago when the 7th prince was overthrown. He is divided between his love for Master Du and disappointment because of the betrayal, hence his insanity and violence.
Master Du thinks that he betrayed his family and his family for the sake of his love for the emperor. He is going to continue to sacrifice himself and the lives given to him by Doctor Zheng for his beloved.
The story may seem absurd between Master Du’s devotion to a tyrant who abuses him and the machinations of the jealous concubine whore Chu Fei but the two lovers are actually victims of a darker scheme.
I’ll give you more spoilers when we get past Master Du’s death from Chu Fei’s poisoning and resurrection ๐ฅฐ
why the hell is the plot filled with the same cliches over and over again………so ya mean according to the novel the dog emporer just never believes Yuzhan?? and y the freakin hell did the dr. lie about how yuzhan’s illness was fake?? Is the novel like more toxic shit than shown in the manhua……After knowing all these I am seriously doubting how their relationship is going to actually start LIKE A PROPER RELATIONSHIP WHERE BOTH LOVE EACHOTHER AND CHERISH EACHOTHER FOREVER!!!!!

I droped the novel…..first it was intresting but soon enough ……๐ช๐ช๐ช๐ช i was annoyed! Xu conconcobin do triks , dr.told yuzhan illness was a fake(seriously ???๐๐) here our doogiee emporer ggoing punish yuzhan even he is seriously ill….. xu already poisoned him,lian came and hit him…. vomited lots of blood ! Dogiee emporer thinks its fake…. Kick him… bla bla bla!
And finally our baby minister died !
Emporer was like “yuzhaaaaaaaaaaaaannnn waaakeee uppp!! Y ar ling to meee”๐๐ bla bla blaa…… and then Yuzhan Was acutely alivee(For gowwdd sake) here again crazyy dogiee get mad again! Imprisoned him! Punish him /// soo same routine continues…… i stoped some chaps after this sean ! If anyone read whole novel,If there is a fair end, tell me……๐๐๐

Wait wait wait… so I’ve been reading this manhua for a while and I thought something was wrong. I read the novel a long time ago but I have a good memory… there are several missing events and the scene doesn’t happen exactly like in the novel.
1) Even if he organized the ambush, the jealous concubine Xu Fei does not attend the banquet and he is not present when Du Yuzhang’s assistant comes to warn the emperor of the danger.
2) The emperor does not believe and continues to get drunk and make fun of Du Yuzhang with his ministers. He is very drunk in the night and leaves in the apartments of Du Yuzhang of course to abuse him as usual. It is there that he realizes that master Du has not returned and trembles with fear that the story of the assistant is true. He goes to the alley but is so upset that he has to be brought back.
