I *kiiiiiiind* of wish they’d had a little more fun with the design, but as someone who has done mermaids in comics, I FULLY respect wanting to ease the suffering of drawing complicated tails and fin ears and scales etc etc over and over and over and over LOL – also I totally get that the style is supposed to emulate those cutesy little stickers and textile prints
