@TussalRain Actually it’s that Sesson was used by his family to bring secrets of merfolks to immortality…… Due to which his grandfather got resurrected from his death and sesson turned to merman…… For this secrets he betrayed his lover Ashura and Atlantis was destroyed in WW2………. later when merfolk clan wanted to return to Atlantis portal opened different vortex abd infected everyone with who got infected by dark matter…….. So in short due to seson’s family interference led to destruction of Atlantis and everyone’s infection……… Still Ashura loves him dearly and is wailing on his death……. Sesson chose to die instead of being kept as immortal token by his family and being trapped in guilt and regret
