@BaiLinhua, you have a point, but honestly, that sounds like most semes of these manhua, doesn’t it 😂 And most of the time, there’s no big secret behind it, it’s just a character trope.
The question is why people like it.
I personally read these types of stories because I like watching first mc’s suffering and then, ml’s suffering. I sympathize with the mc and want him to find a new caring love. I like “healing” types of stories. But these manhua usually end with the mc returning to his rude ml, because “he has changed”. It’s nice to see how our mc’s patience and suffering are finally noticed and appreciated. However, there’re very few instances when returning back feels right to me.
One of the examples of believable change for me is manhwa Rebirth by Ceci.
