I don’t know if the author just likes prolonging the suffering of a weak character or not but this constant back and forth is starting to become tiresome.
It’s no longer keeping me on edge, much less making me feel anything for the MC. He already knows the abuser doesn’t care about him, yet, this cycle of circles continues without really helping the plot.
I only hope it picks up the pace before it burns me out.
