To answer some questions: in the novel, Cen Li gave birth to Ning Mo but resented the child a lot cos he was forced into it. When he “died” in the fire Ning mo was in a different house cos CenLi neglected him. But here, someone left ningmo at his doorstep and a Letter saying his mom was terminally ill and he just took the baby in cos he looked like CenLi.
The second baby y’all saw at the end of the chapter I believe is his fiancés child.
