This manhua is 95% angst. The redemption arc is commendable tho, tge ML really goes through hell… (in between the redemption arc) The MC recovers (from his deadly disease which almost took him to his death bed) and he marries the 2nd ML and really throws hate on the 1st ML after that. The ML tastes all bitter emotions during that time. Later he kidnaps the married MC and imprisons him, the MC escapes (drama in between)… At the end however they reconcile, the ML becomes a lot fluffy at the end, they are in a kind of relationship where the ML directs his lust and love towards the MC and the MC puts up some fight then gives in to ML’s love every night, and they share some passionate moments every night. The ML wants to get remarried but the MC denies it to the end (the ML still has to coax a lot to make him agree). But by the end the MC has developed a voice for himself and is in the right track. They also have a 4year old son (the son was adopted by MC)

As for the regret part. The MC will divorce him. The ML will be mad at first and accepts it but then realizes how big of a mistake it was. He instantly regretted it and chased after the MC when he realized the MC is truly leaving his life as in “let’s never see each other again in this life and in the afterlife” kind of separation. That’s when he started missing the MC and the kind of love he actually got from the MC. He couldn’t sleep at night always dreaming and missing him. He chased and chased him and begged him to come back to him but the MC is determined to never go back again and die somewhere the ML will never see. Mc’s plan is to never let the ML see him in his last moments because “he doesn’t deserve it”.
The MC also received a marriage proposal from the other prince Peng/ The 2nd ML 😭💔 and he MC accepted it 🥹 but he cried when they kissed because he still couldn’t open up his heart because of the trauma. THE 2ND ML IS SO SWEET AND PATIENT MY HEART HURTS BECAUSE OF HIS GENTLENESS. He’s literally like treating the MC as if he is the love that God delivered to him and he doesn’t care is that love doesn’t get to become his, he just wanna love him 💔 even if the MC will never love him more than the MC ever loved the 1st ML.
So the MC told the ML that he promised to marry the 2nd ML. Then after that it’s like back to the action plot lol kidnapping etc etc imma skip that but the MC and ML traveled together in the desert and at this part I truly still hate the ML but I nearly cried at how he was trying his best to keep them both alive from the bandits and promised the MC to let him see the beautiful oasis in the desert. They literally had to drink blood from their horse to survive and ML fed the MC his blood to keep him alive when there was nothing left to eat and drink.
MC was still cruel with his words but he was right and he accepted his fate that he wouldn’t live long so he told the ML about ML’s future partner when MC dies etc and that conversation hurts the ML because it’s like the MC was already looking forward to die. I’m still at ch70 there’s still more but I feel like the biggest revenge MC is doing is actually how he is dying right now and just leave the ML’s life completely through death lol because that’s hurting him more than anything right now. He feels like the only person who was ever sincere to him is finally slowly dying and really leaving him forever. He recalled all the times MC suffered because of him and realizes MC listened to everything he said despite it embarrassing the MC was not because MC has no dignity but because MC loved him. Just MC’s constant suffering is a huge revenge 😂 because it’s so effective in making the ML cry in regret and hurt his heart lol I’m gonna finish the remaining 40ish chapters and see if he MC is really gonna die or something. I bet not but I hope he stops breathing I just wanna see ML suffering more hahahaha

So I read the 2nd novel and I’m not kidding when I say their son is more cruel and heartless than the father. HE IS AN IDIOT. Literally gets swayed by his mistress really easily like a dumbass. If you guys ever read “Husky and His White Cat Shizun” he is worse than Moran like this bitch made my blood boil lol. He literally watches the MC bleed and suffer trying to peel some nuts for the mistress, in front of him and his mistress who just had, or was having sex just to make his mistress happy. The mistress complained that his nails were just painted so he let the MC do all the work while kneeling even when his fingers were bleeding he still made the MC preprare the water for the food massage. His ginfers bleeding the water had salt! But the gong was just ignoring it just to appease and coax his mistress. His mistress was threatened to be killed by the emperor to punish him and this dumbass shouted he will kill the MC too if they kill his mistress. Whenever he gets annoyed with the mc he always runs to his mistress to have fun and get the stupid validation he wants. He always abuses the mc physically like shittttt this motherfucker went as far as burning his skin putting on a mark (like a slave mark) and tortured him so much in the prison, mc was bleeding and had wounds all over and near death JUST BECAUSE HIS BITCH MISTRESS SAID THE MC IS THE SON OF THE PREVIOUS EMPEROR SO HE INSINUATED THAT THE MC MUST BE THE ASSASSIN, even though they literally had ZEROOOOO proof he is the assassin, the dumb ML (ew ew ew can’t believe he is called that) still listened to his mistress and punished the mc so cruelly. This was the moment MC completely lost his love for the ML (somewhere around chapter 30-40ish in the novel) Not only that he keeps hurting him, slapping him, grabbing his hair and raping him. And he raped him once AFTER HAVING SEX WITH HIS MISTRESS…. the audacity of this turd. When the MC was literally bleeding so much in his bed as in soaked in blood because ML raped him + the mc’s terminal illness related to blood with no cure, the ML was only worried for a while until the SIDEBITCH swayed him again and convinced him mc is just fine and he shouldn’t be bothered by it. So he starts treating MC cold and mean again. He is so dumb I swear. He gets jealous when the MC gets close to other men but he literally slept with the sidebitch all night during his wedding night with the MC, and had the MC wait and begged him outside to go back to their room. Mc waited until these bitches finished having fun, waited for his husband to finished having fun with another man ON THEIR WEDDING NIGHT! But he had the audacity to keep getting jealous and accuse the MC of having an affair. Everytime the ML gets scolded by the emperor, he hurts the MC then run to his mistress lover to have fun and hear what he wants to hear. He likes how his side lover praises him and consoles him with words and in bed. But when he is in front of the mc he’s always acting bored and finds him boring and nagging so he runs to the mistress and doesn’t come home. He made the MC disable, his hands were ruined for a while, he almost bled to death, he got blind, he got tortured. All because of the orders and actions of the ML. Yes even with the side bitch’s manipulation, in the end it was the ML who eventually made the MC suffered. He called the shots. Most of his actions are done impulsively when he gets mad.
What frustrates me SO MUCH is that the MC….. is literally surrounded by 2 SUPER GREEN FLAG MLS. Their is another prince who literally gave a share of his life (medicines to help him live) to the MC so he could live. Thie prince called peng something, his heart hurts so much for the MC he cries for him. He cries for how much the MC suffered at the hands of the ML. It pains him that someone who he wants to treasure sooo much and give his life to, would be treated so cruelly and unjustly. BUT SOMEHOW WHEN THE ML CHANGED AND EVERYONE THINKS THE ML IS NOW MORE DESERVING TO LOVE THE MC LIKE WHAT THE FUCK?! AUTHOR WTF?! I literally have to rant because bitchhhhhh. Also the sidebitch died lol the love triangle between them ended around chapters 35-40+ in the novel because that’s when the assassination happened. So it won’t be long in the manhwa for sure. It was brief but fcking cruel lol so don’t dwell on their love triangle and get stressed like me cuz it ended fast 😂 ML didn’t really like the side bitch lol even when MC asked him if he wasn’t the crown princess then would it be Hu Nuer (the side bitch)? But the ML was like “there’s no one” lol not even the side bitch. In the end he was only a plaything the ML liked to play until he got discarded.
As for the revenge lol. Idk if you guys have read this but “The Remarried Empress” popped in my head while reading the 2nd novel haha the plot was kind of like that lol. The MC divorced him around 40ish chapters. Mc divorced him like a boss lol. He burned EVERYTHING that had anything to do with the ML before he left. Everything.
I’m now at the part of ML’s regret , suffering and chasing part but I’m not gonna spoil more until I finish this part hehe.

when I saw this story has a sequel, I immediately looked for the novel. when I read the novel I thought it would be a light story considering how the relationship between qiyu and liqing was in the first story. it turns out that this story is more brutal than the story of the fathers. when i read the climax part of this story, i was listening to “Happier Than Ever” and Fu**, it made me very emotional. this song really describes the story of jun qiyu and song liqing. I hate qiyu, qiyu is stupider, crueler, and crazier than his father. I’m satisfied with his regrets and redeems arc, but I need side stories ╥﹏╥
