   Regarding Xiao Zhu – I think it’s more nuance. There’s never confirmation about his sexuality (never said he was ‘straight’ either, just Suiying just speculate how ‘gay gay’ Xiao Zhu as he thought of his financial and family situation). Xiao Zhu was the only son of a not so well off family, there’s family and social expectation for him to get marry eventually as they introduce him a girl. , Suiying being the eldest son with a very conservative family heir mindset himself understands that. Suiying was always hung up on being gay and unable to produce an ‘heir’ for his family (that’s why he insisted Suilin has to carry out this responsibilty), and he gets very angry with his cousin ‘going gay’ in My Little Poplar. The difference between Suiying and Xiao Zhu is Suiying ‘can be’ gay due to his wealth and status, but commoner like Xiao Zhu can’t in China. What’s fact is Xiao Zhu was in love with Suiying but ‘knew his places’ well and didn’t dare to wish for more. He knew Suiying would never fall in love with him and ‘not that into him’,, so he ended things with Suiying on his own terms by turning down the invitation.

   In the extras where they met Xiao Zhu few years later, it’s not mentioned whether Xiao Zhu got married or not (no ring on finger).

   Mc never did plan to leave the country with xiao zhu. All i know was that in almost near end chapter in the novel, mc was really tired from work (like really. There was so many work to do) and finally could rest. He asked his secretary to book a trip out of the country to relaxed. So mc is the type to hate being alone so he called xiao zhu to follow him to have a vacation but xiao zhu refused(at the time, xiao zhu has decided to get distance from mc. When xz called mc not “suiying” but instead formally in the call, he realised that xz has decided to end the relationship. Xz is not gay. He is straight and would want to have a family. But he does like mc. But instead of like, he admire mc more) but anyway so mc decided to go alone. He had to come back to his country because li yu brother called him and told him something urgent happened.

    Bro- Like seriously. I read the novel and i feel anger. SuiYing deserves to be with xiaozhu. ( it’s a boy or friend of Suiying)

    SPOILER: (Read if you want, if not it’s ok.)

    · Suilin (The younger brother) is madly in love with his step brother Suiying. R@pEs him 1 time.

    · Li yu is in love with SUilin and deceives Suiyin of a money invest. (idk what the fuc* was going in those chapters but i think Li yu made Suiying lose a lot of money).

    · In the future Li yu regrets it but our king SUiying gives a sh¡t about it. Li yu r@pEs Suiying 2 times. ( I wanna kill him.)

    · Suiying gives a shit about the work and money and gives everything that he has to Suilin, and plans to leave the country with xizo zhu. But Li yu stops him and even include SUiying’s grandfather into his STUPID plan to regain Suiying’s love. OF COURSE AT THE END THEY END UP TOGETHER.

    PD: I SPEND MY TIME READING THIS NOVEL AND THE AUTOR GIVES ME THIS END? It’s ok, after seeing Li yu suffer that much but IT WAS NOT LONG ENOUGH!
