@Master whyviy I HIGHLY recommend starting at the beginning of the Xia Sini arc which is around chapters 51 or 52 of the novel. (If you haven’t already)
Since it’s looking like the manhua skipped two very important arcs. There’s quite a few important bits of information revealed in those arcs that will get elaborated on/ properly explained in future chapters.

From what I remember, they skipped two big arcs, where it’s revealed Chu Wanning was poisoned by that tree thing, and the poison turned him into a child. While he and the medic in their sect were trying to find a cure, Chu Wanning masqueraded as a little kid named Xia Sini and made friends with his disciples (they didn’t know he was their shizun, they just thought he was a cute kid)
Skip a lot and there was a mass murder of some bird people, where the murderer framed Mo Ran for it. The person who framed him is the same guy that tried to kill him in the lake. So now they are aware that there is someone targeting Mo Ran.
Skip a lot again, the ghost invasion began (the one that Shi Mei died in, in Mo Ran’s past life) so Mo Ran demanded that he take Shi Mei’s place so that he would die instead. He got the same injuries as Shi Mei did in his past life, and this chapter begins with him waking up from them. So this arc is where Mo Ran starts realizing how badly he’s been misunderstanding Chu Wanning for so long. Hope that explains well enough for you to understand what’s going on😅
